From a young age, I've been fascinated by how things work, often found tinkering with gadgets just to satisfy my curiosity. Growing up, I discovered a deep sense of fulfillment in helping others, whether it was fixing a broken toy or assisting a neighbor with their computer troubles. High school provided numerous opportunities to engage in community service, igniting my passion for making a positive impact.
Now, as a Computer Science and Engineering student at The Ohio State University and a member of the Humanitarian Engineering Scholars program, I'm channeling this passion into my academic journey. Through a rigorous curriculum focused on artificial intelligence, data structures, and algorithms, I'm preparing to tackle real-world challenges head-on. In addition to my studies, I'm actively seeking collaborative opportunities, such as project courses, to refine my skills and develop innovative solutions. My ultimate goal is to leverage my expertise in healthcare technology to contribute to life-saving projects, fulfilling my mission to make a tangible difference in the world.
In this role, I support over 40 students by managing grading for homework, labs, and projects in topics like data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design. I conduct weekly office hours to assist students with complex concepts, including recursive parsers, design-by-contract principles, and linked data structures. Additionally, I guide students in hands-on coding labs, helping them with debugging, techniques, and Java implementation of layered software components.
In this position, I provided technical support to clients for various hardware and software issues by installing, configuring, and troubleshooting different components for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
In this position, I worked with customers to provide tailored solutions for their needs, coached other associates within the store to ensure they are informed about Apple's products, promotions, and services, and achieved individual goals regarding revenue and membership sales.
Here's what I've been working on:
My team developed a license plate detection system to automatically report cars illegally passing school buses. We showcased it at the SkillsUSA Engineering Technology/Design Competition and placed 4th in Illinois.
I worked on a team with the task to create a better school security system. We created a system which automatically logs student attendance and keeps unauthorized individuals out of high schools.
Designed a modern website with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS. Includes a Request Service form that sends automatic emails via an Express API I developed.
Developed a user-friendly website for a local HVAC company. Utilized HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS to create an intuitive and simple layout that effectively showcases the company's services and expertise.
Developed a backend API with Node.js and Express for user authentication and account management. Designed a secure SQL database and built a Vue.js front-end for user login and access to personalized data, including expenses, subscriptions, and income.
